De Business Week Taiwan en Zuid-Korea beginnen we met een plenaire sessie. The Netherlands Office in Taiwan en de Nederlandse Ambassade in Zuid-Korea zullen een landenbriefing geven over de economische ontwikkelingen en vooruitzichten. Nederlandse ondernemers delen hun ervaring over zakendoen en hun visie op de twee groeimarkten in Noordoost-Azië. Zij zullen je begeleiden bij het begrijpen en omgaan met de culturele verschillen in het zakendoen tussen Nederlanders, Taiwanezen en Zuid-Koreanen. Daarnaast worden uitdagingen en kansen in het bedrijfsleven tijdens en na de COVID-19 pandemie besproken.

South Korea is promoting hi-tech horticulture to export vegetables abroad. Opportunities and challenges will be shared during this session. Taiwan is relatively underdeveloped in cold chain logistics for vegetables and fruits. The current situation and opportunities will also be discussed during this session.

Taiwan and Korea; opportunities for smart technology from the Netherlands (ENG)
Taiwan and Korea have been at the heart of the international ICT supply chain for decades and the ICT industry is key to their economic development. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the governments of Taiwan and Korea are actively pushing the development of smart cities. Governments and industry from both markets are therefore looking for partnerships, products and services to achieve the ambitious smart cities goals. A couple of Dutch companies is already active in this sector in Taiwan and Korea. In this session specialists from our representative offices in Taiwan and Korea will update on recent trends, key stakeholders, events and ongoing cooperation’s with the Netherlands on smart cities. They will also highlight which sectors are particularly promising for Dutch entrepreneurs. This ranges from smart healthcare and smart mobility to green building and new energy. Dutch entrepreneurs already active in the Taiwanese and Korean market will share their experiences. The recently launched Dutch export program to Korea for Zero Energy Buildings (ZEB) will also be introduced.

Opportunities for architecture and urban design in South Korea (ENG)
South-Korea has gone through rapid development and urbanization in the 20th century. The Korean building market remains dynamic today. New construction projects proliferate, in Seoul metropolitan area. A recent development is the growth of urban regeneration projects. There is a clear increase in the demand for high quality architecture and design, attention for the needs of end users, local integration of designs and sustainability. This offers opportunities for Dutch architects and designers. In this session Dutch firms with a track record in Korea share their experiences. Furthermore, the results of the recent sector study, assigned by embassy and RVO, will be presented. The study gives an overview of the market for architecture and urban design, signals trends and gives concrete tips on how to enter the Korean market. The session is the perfect start for your exploration of the Korean market!

Taiwan and Korea; opportunities for Dutch high-tech companies (ENG)
Korea and Taiwan are crucial for the production as well as innovations for many High-Tech technologies such as Semiconductors, Photonics, 5G, AI, IoT and many new emerging technologies. Especially when it comes to the semiconductor industry Korea and Taiwan hold a key-position in the global supply-chain. Korea is in control of memory chips, while Taiwan is at the forefront of (logic) foundry services. But besides the semiconductor industry both are eagerly looking for further developments in the production process as well as diversifying the supply chains. Water management opportunities in Taiwan (ENG)
To confront Taiwan’s challenges of climate change, and address requirements related to flood prevention, water resources and water environments overall, Taiwan’s government allocated a special eight-year budget of NT$250.8 billion (€7.6 billion) to construct water-related infrastructure, as part of the more comprehensive forward-looking Infrastructure Development Program. As of July 2020, Taiwan and the Netherlands established a bi-lateral working group to work on potential cooperation. RVO has also contracted a consultancy to conduct a water sector study for Taiwan, during this webinar, the outcome of market study will be presented with business opportunities in Taiwan. In particular, an international tender of environmental construction of Beigang River with Huwei Sugar Refinery in Taiwan from water resource agency, ministry of economic affairs will be shared. Welcome Dutch companies with water technology, flood management experience and who interested in architecture tender with integrated water environment expertise join us in this session.
